PEI UPSE welcomes city of Charlottetown employees

Charlottetown (27 Oct. 2017) —The PEI Union of Public Sector Employees (PEIUPSE/NUPGE) is now the official union representing the city of Charlottetown workers, who were formerly represented by the Voluntary Association of Charlottetown Employees (VACE). 

Karen Jackson, PEI UPSE President, says, “PEI UPSE/NUPGE is pleased to welcome the city of Charlottetown workers to the PEI UPSE/NUPGE family. We look forward to working with our new members and the city of Charlottetown to foster a safe, productive and just workplace culture. We also want to thank the V.A.C.E. executive for their years of dedicated service to the membership.”

PEI UPSE/NUPGE is the largest union in Prince Edward Island, representing approximately 5,000 employees in both the public and private sectors. PEIUPSE/NUPGE provides a full range of services for its members, including labour relations representation, collective bargaining, member education initiatives, and full access to democratic participation in the union.
