“A full public inquiry would be just the ticket to restore public confidence in our system," said David Eggen, Executive Director of Friends of Medicare.
Edmonton (22 Mar. 2011) - A rally will be held on the steps of the Alberta Legislature, Saturday, March 26 at 1 pm, to demand the Stelmach government call a proper public inquiry into ongoing concerns surrounding the intimidation of health-care professionals who want to advocate on behalf of their patients.
The rally is sponsored by Friends of Medicare, a provincial coalition of individuals, service organizations, social justice groups, unions, associations, churches and other organizations whose goal is to raise public awareness on concerns related to Medicare in Alberta and Canada.
The Health Science Association of Alberta (HSAA/NUPGE) is a active member.
“A full public inquiry would be just the ticket to restore public confidence in our system," said David Eggen, Executive Director of Friends of Medicare. "A full public inquiry would empower front line workers to share their knowledge to help improve public health delivery. It would also help to shine a light on capacity problems that lie at the root of most of our health system problems."
All HSAA/NUPGE members are encouraged to wear their union colours and show their support for this continued call for government transparency.
